Biblical Scholarship in Service of the Church

Many years ago I had grand ambitions of winning a Nobel Prize for Physics, or taking the stock market by storm and making my millions. Now in my mid-thirties, my goals are much less impressive and much more unattainable. I simply want to love the Lord with all my heart, all my soul, all my strength and all my mind.

At the moment I am a PhD student at Highland Theological College working on a canonical interpretation of the Song of Songs. I have previously studied on the Cornhill Training Course, at Oak Hill Theological College and Westminster Theological Seminary. From March to June 2009, I will be based at Tyndale House in Cambridge. The aim of my work is to provide a solid basis for interpretation of the Song that will allow its rehabilitation within the church. I'd love to eventually write a commentary on the Song.

As much as I enjoy studying, teaching is what makes me come alive. I trained as a Maths teacher and taught in schools for five years. I have had many other opportunities to teach in church groups, on Christian summer camps, and in evangelistic missions. Most recently I have been invited to lecture on the Song of Songs at Oak Hill and WTS, and in 2007 I was responsible for teaching a NT Greek class. In my free time, I love reading and writing and you will find links to some of my fiction here. I also enjoy crafts of all kinds, reality TV and window shopping.
